ApexWeather Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 October 2026

ApexWeather is published by Apex Interactive Studio. For privacy questions or support, contact alxrlov@gmail.com.

Location and city searches

Location access is optional. If you choose My Location, Android may provide an approximate or precise location, depending on your permission choice. ApexWeather uses it to request local forecasts and air information. You can instead search for and save cities without granting location permission. The app does not request background location permission.

Network requests and third parties

Forecast coordinates are sent directly over HTTPS to the selected weather service and, when automatic backup is enabled, other eligible services: Open-Meteo, MET Norway, 7Timer!, NWS / NOAA, Bright Sky / DWD and wttr.in. Open-Meteo also receives coordinates for air data and your search text and chosen language for city searches. The map downloads map tiles, fonts and sprites from OpenFreeMap; tile requests reveal the area being viewed. Providers receive the ordinary technical information needed for an internet connection, including your IP address and the app's version and identifier. Weather requests identify the developer's support email, not an email address obtained from your device. Third parties may retain request or security logs under their own policies. We do not promise that all provider processing is temporary or anonymous.

Data stored on your device

Saved cities, the last My Location coordinates, your settings and cached weather are stored in the app's private storage so forecasts can reopen quickly. They are not sent to a developer-operated analytics or account server. Android's system backup may back up app data according to your device and Google account settings. MapLibre keeps a local map cache. Saved data remains until you remove it, clear app storage or uninstall the app; system backups are managed separately in your Android backup settings.

No advertising or user accounts

This release has no ads, paid features, user accounts, advertising identifiers, analytics SDK or developer-operated crash reporting. We do not sell personal data or use it to build advertising profiles. Your device may provide separate system diagnostics under your Android settings. Google Play processes store and installation data under Google's own policies.

Your controls and deletion

You can deny or revoke location permission in Android Settings and use manually selected cities. Turn off automatic backup providers to limit forecast requests to your selected source. Remove saved cities in the city list. Clear storage in Android Settings > Apps > ApexWeather > Storage to delete local app data. Remove Android backups separately if enabled. To ask about data you sent us by email, contact alxrlov@gmail.com. Support messages are used to answer your request and retained only as needed for the conversation or applicable obligations. We cannot directly erase logs held independently by external weather or map providers; contact the relevant provider for those requests. No account deletion flow is needed because the app does not create accounts.

Security and children

The app uses HTTPS for weather, search and map requests and Android's app-private storage. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. ApexWeather is a general-purpose weather app, not a service specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal information.
